After looking for an affordable modern outdoor chair and comming up empty, we simply designed and built one for ourselves. Cedar materials for the cedar chair were approximately than $30 for the chair. Pieces were cut and assembled in about 2 hours with nothing more than a chop saw and a cordless drill.
