Award winning design for the Backyard Cottage Design Challenge 2010.

This 678 square foot backyard accessory unit will be located in Seattle's Columbia City neighborhood. Key design elements include a double height living area, a private outdoor space on the rooftop, and durable, low maintenance materials. By minimizing the building's footprint we were able to remain below the city's maximum lot coverage requirements while maximizing the livable area of the residence.
